It's the only explanation.

Notice how he never puts his hand over the apple. Uses a finger at an angle (to not hit the fish line) to push it down. Then, pinches it to lift it.

Maybe it’s a ballon? Or it’s tied to a fish string that we can’t see on a pulley system? Crazy?! I don’t know…🤷🏽‍♂️
