Its pathetic how a certain demographic cant handle NOT being the hero of every damn game, movie etc. Everyone else has had to deal with it for decades and didnt cry like little bitches about it.

That is a nice analysis, but it misses one crucial thing. In a fandom-based industry that is supposed to offer escapism, devs either take away established heroes that helped with the growth of the industry or attack fans who react to their choices. Also, the industry is run by activists who are clearly against the white straight male gamer and hero based on ideology(and use this term loosely) and not on sound market research.

Pretty good assessment. However, Joel is actually a villain…to Abby and the Fireflies. The larger issue, in that particular instance, is a massive lack of media literacy where they don’t understand the nuance. They don’t even understand why Joel lied to Ellie at the end LoU1

This take is missing so much information out of convenience to make your claim sound correct. Firstly, no one has an issue with playing as a woman in video games; it's been a non-issue from the days of the SNES to modern consoles. Gamers have enjoyed playing as female characters from the more modestly dressed Heather Graham and Aya Brea to the more fantastical representations of Bayonetta and Samus. Players have embraced them all without any problem. These characters were well-developed and appealing, resulting in players liking them and forming a fandom around them. The issue at hand now is the influence of modern ideologies on the design process of characters and stories. This influence leads to a design approach that tends to standardize de-feminization, anti-beauty standards, and androgyny. Gamers have noticed how the political landscape has shaped character design in recent years. In particular, the intergalactic main character perfectly embodies this ideology. The creator, Cuckman, is aligned with these views. As a result, this main character seems to promote these standards rather than being developed to appeal to an audience, like the traditional Naughty Dog fan. So the issue has nothing to do with us, it has more to do with the creative process being dictated by mandates over than creative freedom.

I understand ya analogy, but what I will say is that half of the consumer base that did take on the mantle of “I WaNT tO bE hERo” never been outside their parents basement, never had normal interactions with females besides their gamer friends, they gotta touch grass to elevate

While part of you argument is correct, you seem to be excluding so much context. Fans of gaming aren't just gaming, they enjoy other means of entertainment too. And those other forms are also doing the same thing. Whether it's comics, films, books, all their heroes are being

When the last time we had a straight female lead that liked men… Don’t worry, take your time. I’ll wait…

I get what youre saying but I just find it hard to believe that men are that fickle & sad. That cant be real. Ive never met a single dude who wants to play a game to be a man. Thats ridiculous. I could see wanting to play a role, like a cowboy or soldier or wizard but just a sex?

That's not it they can't stand Sony and their exclusives mate. the driving force behind this is PC shills and Xbox bendovers. Sony needs to take all their games off PC make everything exclusive and only deal with people who deal with them
