#EXCLUSIVE: Swans star Chad Warner has said while there is a two-year deal on the table from Sydney, a return home to Western Australia isn't off the cards. 10 News First's Ash Nelson caught Warner at the airport as he returned to Sydney, after staying in WA after the Swans' win over Fremantle on Sunday. Sam Kerr has expressed sympathy for the Matildas' next Women's Asian Cup opponents Iran, following recent developments in their home country. "Obviously it's really tough what's going on around the world. But you know, they're just young, young girls and young footballers ... we'll treat the game like any other game and show the team the utmost respect and prepare properly," Kerr said following Australia's win over the Philippines to open the tournament. West Coast Eagles co-captain Oscar Allen has issued an emotional apology following a meeting with Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell, to discuss the possibility of Allen crossing to the Hawks at season's end. 10 News First revealed on Monday that the meeting took place, opening a deluge of commentary on the issue, with some calling for Allen to hand in his captaincy role at West Coast. "I just want to address my sincere apology, and serious embarrassment of what's happened over the last few days and weeks," Allen said today, flanked by Eagles Head of Football John Worsfold. "I'm going to continue my role as co-captain alongside Liam Duggan this season ... I just want to play some good footy for this great footy club." Allen has had a poor start to the season for the Eagles, only registering a total of 20 disposals and three goals across his first three games for 2025.

Bombers star Zach Merrett says he never lost faith in Essendon, despite his push for a move to rivals Hawthorn, which fell flat in the dying minutes of the AFL Trade Period. Merrett has returned to the club and admitted the first 30 minutes when he walked through the doors was a "little bit awkward" but is keen to move on ahead of the 2026 season.

AFL expert Mark Duffield has called out young Eagles star Harley Reid in the wake of his behaviour in West Coast's 87 point loss to the Gold Coast Suns at home. "He (Harley Reid) spends too much time and wastes too much energy trying to wrestle with opponents," Duffield told 10 News First.
