🇨🇳🚄I did get a guide. It’s not actually 100% necessary because most signs are in English and in Chinese. So we were introduced to the much vaunted 🏎️automobiles of China! Our little minivan wasn’t a fancy BYD car, but it had a back massager and was very well appointed and comfortable. We saw Teslas, Range Rover’s, Mercedes, all the top EVS of China (oh yes, they are cool!!)😳😁 (Elon Musk — everybody ❤️😍 Tesla!) But we had a very interesting little discussion in China about something that nobody in the west thinks exists in China: competition! But at the same time, the issue is success for the broadest number of people. 🇺🇸 It’s funny, in the United States we have this term, “the General Welfare”. It means the same thing. We are getting to see it play out in real practice. Don’t worry, I have some criticisms, but I think the discussion here is very good. Pay attention! This is not some CP propagandist but just a guy who is happy to show us his country. What’s going on in your country?

Don't worry...oil prices will go down. The US has a Strategic Petroleum Reserve that we refilled... Remember, Trump said, “right up to the top again.” Except, we didn't....we don't have the oil... The reserve currently holds 415 million barrels—barely half its 714 million-barrel capacity—after the Biden administration drew it down heavily in 2022 to contain prices following 🇷🇺Russia’s invasion of 🇺🇦Ukraine. Trump had cheap oil and a full year to replenish it. But Congress allocated less than $171 million of the $20 billion the energy secretary requested, and the administration made only token purchases. Anyone know any good escorts? For oil tankers, I mean. Is there anyone competent in the US leadership?

First night in Shanghai! I have wanted to take the maglev train for years! 300km/h is not bad and it’s smooth! 7 minutes for $7. That beats 45minutes! Maglev was originally conceived of by Robert Goddard in the USA in 1904. The Germans built it but this is the only commercial version to my knowledge.

We saw, first hand the economic disaster of China 🤣 (sarcasm) on our evening cruise before walking to Nanjing East Road—- think Times Square—-yet another testament to the Wild development of China! What was farmland is now an economic powerhouse! On top of that, well over 90% of the Chinese people are happy with their government! Why are the Chinese happy? What 🇺🇸American can say that they are happy with their government? What 🇬🇧Brit can say that they are happy with their government? The EU is disintegrating—-the only people that can’t see it are the people that run it!

🇨🇳🇺🇸❤️We have been overwhelmed by people here in the Forbidden City, in Beijing, China. People were staring😳😁! So we decided to embrace people’s curiosity😁 The best were the school children who thought we were the most cool—- but the truth is that THEY were the cool ones! Families, elderly, many people wanted pictures with us In the USA, we say “cheese”…. In China, they say “eggplant” when someone wants to take a 📸. We were wished “Welcome to China” often! If China is out to conquer, it is through this kindness and generosity that they will succeed
