Zubair Ahmed Bhat was not a victim of mysterious circumstances, he was tortured and left to die. His family says he told them he was thrashed but begged them not to tell his mother. They allege he was forcibly detained, savagely assaulted with rods and callously abandoned to perish. A 30-year-old Kashmiri, sole breadwinner for his family, brutally silenced without cause. The NC leadership got a massive mandate to speak up for Kashmiris, yet their silence on this brutal killing is deafening. PDP brought a resolution in the Assembly to rationalize reservations. The Speaker rejected it. Over 60 MLAs come from the open merit category, yet no one speaks. This is not about opposing reservations, it's about restoring fairness. Earlier, 75% of the population got 75% of the jobs. Today, they are left with just 30%. NC has 50 MLAs, a massive mandate.
