Kim Hyeja's words: "When you love too much, you get disappointed quickly, so you end up hating a lot." True. That's why 'moderation' is best. That way, you neither get too disappointed nor start hating. But yeah, I also know that it's hard to maintain when you're faced with strong feelings of affection.

Aktor-aktris Korea yang punya motto “좋은 배우가 되기 이전에, 먼저 좋은 사람이 되겠습니다” (Before being a good actor, I'll become a good person first): - Byeon Wooseok, Kang Haneul, Song Geonhee, Kim Woobin, Kwon Nara, Cha Seungwon Kayaknya masih ada yang lain, tapi aku cuma inget segitu hehe. Ngomong-ngomong tentang ini, aku tuh cukup susah buat "separate the art from the artist". Talent is impressive, but being a good person matters to me too 🥹 Kalian termasuk yang bisa pisahin karya sama orangnya, atau sama kayak aku?

He really keeps his words. Tahun 2024 pernah bilang: BWS: "Aku akan sering nonton ulang, jadi aku harap kalian juga jangan lupakan Lovely Runner. Dan sesekali menontonnya kembali tahun depan, bahkan tahun depannya lagi kalau teringat. Terima kasih sudah menonton bareng!"

#KimMooyul bilang pertama kali tahu #TeachYouALesson ranking no. 1 Global non-english tuh karena dikasih tahu sama sutradaranya. According to Jung Deokhyun, a K-content critic and one of the Baeksang Arts Awards judges, the award has two key criteria: 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 and 𝒎𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒂𝒍. He says in this video that, of course, the quality and completeness of a work are most important, but it also needs to resonate with the public. He also says that balancing those two things is actually very difficult. One side demands high artistry, while the other requires broad public resonance. Baeksang doesn’t award works that only critics or judges love. That's not their standard. Baeksang strictly views things from the perspective of the public, and then finds great works within that frame. It’s at the intersection of these two things, and that’s no easy task. In fact, it's gotten even harder recently. In the past, it was easier to identify clear winners. Take Na PD for example, back then, it was clear to everyone that he deserved the award. He created the number one content of the year. It was something everyone could agree on. You could clearly tell each year who had the most meaningful impact, in drama or in variety shows. Was it the cast that made the show? Or the PD? In dramas, you could see if it was the actor or the writer who really stood out. It used to be more clear-cut. But now, things are much more complicated. We’re even starting to consider YouTube content, low-budget productions but with unique and innovative features. So now, judges have intense debates, almost like fights, trying to decide. And the final decisions come out of those heated discussions. No decision satisfies 100% of the judges anymore; everyone has reservations. Nowadays, there’s always a bit of compromise. Some judges might feel, “I wanted this one to win,” or “This one winning is okay, but something feels off.” That’s common now. Still, the judges come to an agreement—a consensus is formed, and they move forward. That’s the process Baeksang follows now. Jung Deokhyun says, award shows have become more difficult—not just giving awards, but the shows themselves are harder to organize. Why? Because the public is no longer united in one opinion. Someone might say, “For me, travel variety shows are the best. Na Youngseok’s variety is my favorite.” But another person might say, “I completely disagree. That’s not my style.” Preferences are now all split. In the past, if we chose one winner, people would nod and agree. Now, if one wins, the other side asks, “Why that one?” That’s why all award shows are having a hard time. To address that, Jung Deokhyun says, Baeksang tries to be transparent. There are guidelines and they try to reveal the process. They even release meeting notes and detailed articles afterward (after the award being held) to explain how a work was chosen. For example, they’ll say, “This work went through fierce competition with another, and finally won through a vote.” They try to make that process public.
