Isaac Ellis is coming to Louisville and he’s coming early. 🔴⚫️ The 6’1 point guard out of Hickory, NC originally committed to the Cardinals as a 2027 recruit, but is now reclassifying back into the 2026 class and enrolling this summer. The OTE MVP put up 31.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game for the YNG Dreamerz this season. He’s the younger brother of South Carolina’s Eli Ellis, hooping runs in the family.

Louisville’s defensive struggles continued Saturday in a 31-28 loss to NC State, dropping the Cards to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in ACC play. Following the game, Jeff Brohm was asked about the state of his defense and made it clear that what Louisville has been doing isn’t good enough. “We’ve got to make some changes and do some things to improve our defense.” Brohm added that getting it corrected falls on him as the head coach. When asked about coaches being frustrated with NIL and the transfer portal, Walz didn’t sugarcoat it: “My favorite line… if you don’t like your job, find a new job.” He went on to talk about how demanding the job is, but also how you’re compensated for it. Everybody’s tired this time of year, whether it’s coaches or the crews getting the city ready in Fort Worth… but the job still has to get done.
