A generation from now, people will ask whether we watched the Great Salt Lake disappear or chose to save it. Refilling the Great Salt Lake isn’t just about conserving biodiversity, saving the wildlife, and the economy of one state. It’s about saving a national gem, and doing what no country has done before: restoring a saline lake. Congress has an opportunity to meet that challenge by authorizing President Trump’s $1 billion request for Great Salt Lake restoration and securing the future of the American West.
