Today, all charges against me were dismissed because what I did was never a crime. I want to thank my husband, my family, my legal team, my colleagues, law enforcement leaders, elected officials, and the countless people across Louisiana who stood with me throughout this entire ordeal. Sending those letters was a very ordinary thing. Lawyers do it. Attorneys General do it. Law enforcement officers do it. Advising someone what the law requires and explaining the legal consequences for violating it is not a crime. It's exactly what the law requires me to do as Attorney General. This case was never just about me. What happened here set a dangerous precedent that could affect anyone. That is why this is not over. This is not about anger, retaliation, or "Baton Rouge versus New Orleans." It is about ensuring our criminal justice system is never weaponized against anyone else. I was indicted, threatened with arrest, and given a $400,000 bond. I invite everyone to compare that bond to those routinely set in Orleans Parish by this same judge for people charged with second-degree murder. I can tell you the answer: it's about $268,000. I will continue doing my job as your Attorney General without fear or intimidation, holding people accountable when they break the law and ensuring what happened here never happens again. #lalege

These are just a few examples of the obscene garbage Roblox is peddling to our children in Louisiana and across the country. I will not stand by and watch this company grow exponentially from exploiting children and facilitating child sexual abuse for profit

Let me be clear: Five members of the New Orleans City Council and the Mayor broke the law by creating a fictional office and appointing someone to it during the week of a statewide election because they were more concerned about their own politics than complying with the law. And the District Attorney set it all in motion by writing the letter to the City Council urging them to take those actions. #lalege

Disturbing cases like this, in which a 24-year-old Alabama man is accused of coercing a Lafourche Parish teenager he met on Roblox into self-harm, suicide attempts, and sending explicit images, are exactly why I filed a lawsuit against Roblox. At the end of the day, Roblox must act as a responsible member of our community and do more to protect children.

CVS is using their customers' personal information that was given to them for a particular purpose, and they are using it instead to lobby for their own personal corporate interests against pending legislation in the State Legislature. That is wrong.

🚨BREAKING: My cyber team at the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation has discovered that some of these vile & racist spam messages can be traced back to a VPN in Poland. At this time, they have found no original source - meaning they could have originated from any bad actor state in the region or the world. We will continue to investigate.

Everything Roblox does is designed to increase user engagement numbers which increases their profitability. About 60% of its users are 16 and under. That's an enormous amount of exposure to liability - and an enormous amount of exposure for sex predators to get access to our children. Thanks Phil Mattingly for having me on The Lead CNN to discuss our legal action against the company.
