My friend Riley Gaines is joining me tonight at the Indiana Fever game to support Sophie Cunningham. Sophie said what never should have been controversial: Girls shouldn’t have to compete against biological males, and they shouldn’t have to share locker rooms or other private spaces with them. That’s common sense, and I’m grateful to have them both as allies in the fight to protect female athletes.

On July 1, thanks to the FAIRNESS Act, there will finally be real state-level penalties for employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. At today’s press conference following my tour of the Insignia hotel job site, I stood with Central Midwest Carpenters Union Rep Kyle Gresham and my Assistant Chief Deputy Blake Lanning to discuss how my office will enforce this strong law, protect Hoosier workers, and hold bad actors accountable. Watch:

For 43 years, Indiana’s Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises program has done something fundamentally unconstitutional and un-American: it told Hoosiers that the color of your skin or your gender matters more than your merit when competing for state contracts. That ended today. Our office officially issued a formal advisory opinion declaring the race- and sex-based components of the Diversity Business Enterprises (DBE) program wildly unconstitutional under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. My team and I held a press conference to discuss how we are working to end discrimination in Indiana. Watch here:

Today, our office sued St. Joseph County Sheriff Redman and his department over their persistent practice of refusing to cooperate with federal immigration authorities. This includes refusing to notify ICE properly about the release of ILLEGAL aliens and also refusing to honor ICE detainers. We will continue working to eliminate all sanctuary jurisdictions throughout Indiana. Watch:

The Fairness Act — Indiana's strongest immigration enforcement bill ever — is right at the one-yard line. The Senate needs to concur on the House amendments and send it to Governor Braun's desk for signature. They can make it happen today! This would be a huge victory for Hoosiers: protecting jobs and securing our communities. This morning, I, along with State Reps. J.D. Prescott and Michelle Davis, held a press conference to detail the new authority this law gives my office — and to set the record straight on the hard-fought battle to get here. Watch:
