Hi. Cuby is setting the stage to commercialize a network of hundreds of Mobile Micro-Factories (MMFs) erected on or near construction sites.

We’ve been building in the shadows for 4.5 years. Today, we’re pulling back more of the curtain. We just dropped a 10-minute film showing what Cuby really looks like in operation (from 3 months ago). Watch the film and then tell me if you still think the future has to suck. More below. Aleh Kandrashou Cuby Technologies

After 1,000,000+ engineering hours, we're ready to give an update on what we've been making and how. Construction is the largest, least productive industry on Earth, and it’s starting to affect housing. We're here to fix that. Thesis: We can build quality homes — any type — faster and cheaper than most of the industry through industrialization. Here's how: Construction's biggest problem is logistics: getting the right materials, people, and information in the right place at the right time. So we invented a new type of manufacturing, Mobile Micro-Factories — small, modular, local factories that make and prepare every part of a home, then deliver it in stages, last-mile, to the site ready to assemble with non-specialized labor. We’re built to scale fast — we can quickly copy our factories into hundreds of markets worldwide. This is a really hard problem to solve; we're going to get there. We'll walk through the nuances in more detail over the next few weeks. Full film dropping soon.

Construction is a colossal logistics problem: getting the right people, materials, and information to the right place at the right time. To industrialize construction, this paradox must be overcome. We overcame it by inventing a new type of manufacturing that allows for localization; we call it a Mobile Micro-Factory (MMF). We need to put up a lot of them really fast to make a dent in the supply-and-demand gap (millions of homes, all types of homes). So, we made a factory that makes factories. We call it the PAPA factory. We plan to open 5-7 of them across different geographies, de-risking supply chains and bringing production closer to demand. Each PAPA factory can make 5 MMFs per year. Every new “factory that builds factories” multiplies downstream production capacity. This all sounds crazy; however, it’s a highly orchestrated path to putting scale front and center. Tackling the housing crisis means you need to build a lot of homes: quicker, cheaper, and better.

We make our own windows. They are high-quality tilt and turn windows, often floor-to-ceiling. We didn't have to offer triple-pane windows, floor to ceiling, but our cost savings (reduction in skilled labor & labor hours altogether) allow us to overspend on over-engineering some aspects of our homes. FYI, making your own window-making station that fits into containers IS NOT EASY.
