🚨 BREAKING: Justin Hartley confirms Jensen Ackles is returning to Tracker as Russell Shaw. Hartley revealed at Televerse that Ackles is back on set next week. The brothers will team up again this season as Russell needs a favor from Colter. Transcript: "Moderator: Brother Russell, played by Jensen Ackles — good friend, and he was with us for a long time. Tell me about that dynamic and what he brought to the series, because I know he’s coming back. Justin Hartley: Yeah, he’s coming back. He’ll be here next week. What he brings to the show is pretty extraordinary. He’s really talented… and extremely ugly. He’s hard to look at, yeah. But other than the looks, he has this incredible work ethic, charm, charisma, and talent. Wonderful. And everybody knows that. What you don’t see unless you work with him is his desire to be on point all the time. It’s so cool to be around, and I think it inspires other people as well. It’s a contagious thing that he has. I like to think I have that too. I pride myself on it — I can’t sleep unless I know my words inside out. But to work with someone who has that level of dedication… he’s got a family, a wife and kids, a whole life… yet the dude shows up ready to go, immediately ready, and I dig that. He locks in. Moderator: So what does he bring this upcoming season? Justin Hartley: I thought it was really cool what we did last season. We left him in a place where he was doing something for Colter — keeping a secret from him, but for Colter’s own good. He took one for the team. Quid pro quo: “I’ll do this for you… just keep him out of it. He doesn’t need to know any of this. It’s to protect him.” And when we find him this season… he’s coming back. Jensen Ackles answers a fan question: "What other projects are you involved with at the moment?" Jensen: "At the moment I am taking a nice little break because I was working pretty much non-stop for about two years. But yeah, we did a prequel to The Boys called Vought Rising, which will be out early next year. And I also dip in and out of a show called Tracker. It has just started its fourth season. So, I'm waiting for the phone call." Richard: "I'm not sure that Jensen is taking a break because Jensen wants to take a break. We were both like in our young twenties, man. So it's just a lot of fun to be here with all my friends and stuff like that. So I appreciate you guys for letting me be here...." Q: "I was just hoping that you would tell us about how you got asked to be on the show and just your entire shooting experience when you got to go." "Jensen gave me a call. He gave me a call and said, 'Hey, you wanna come in and do this?' And I said (I have to be really careful because I'm so fortunate 'cause I got to work with my friends). But I said, 'How's the money?' He goes, 'It’s shit.' And I said, 'Do I die?' He goes, 'Yep.' I go, 'Do you kill me?' He goes, 'Yep.' He goes, 'First of all, it's me and you. It's a bar fight. You used to fight for my dad, and we get to sing Hank Williams Junior.' And I said, 'Where do I sign?' We showed up, and Jensen's always so professional. We went and had lunch... Those guys work hard. They work really, really hard. I mean, as Elliot Spencer — I did all my own shit. I choreographed the fights... I dare you to slow something down and see if it's a picture of me because you can't find it. It's a little bit different 'cause I'm expendable. Jensen's not. David Boreanaz is not. Sometimes people stand in for him, you know, they have to, 'cause they can't afford to get hurt. You just physically can't — financially or physically afford for those guys to get hurt. Jensen never left the set. We did all our own stuff — that fight was us. If he's coming up here after me... it was very painful. But he never left the set, and I was really proud of both of us. When you see us in there, that's us doing this stuff. He threw me around, we were throwing punches. He never left the set, and that made me feel really comfortable because that's where I felt most comfortable doing stuff, and I trusted him 'cause he's good at what he does. And so it was a very, very fun time for me. Me and Boreanaz used to joke around on Angel saying, 'What did we do? For five seasons we went to work and tried to kill our best friend.' And when you're an actor and you get to go to work and try to kill one of your best friends, it's a good day." Q: "So my question is similar... it's about the song when you and Jensen get up to sing. So was that always the song you were gonna sing, like right from the beginning when Jensen pitched it?" "Well, it was in the script, and I said, 'I don't know how they're gonna pay for this.' And then I remembered it's Supernatural — they got more money than, you know... So I was like, 'Alright.' The coolest thing about your question is that we got to go in on our day off, me and Jensen, and we got to record it. I didn't know at the time, but Jensen told me we got to record it at Brian Adams' personal studio... That was kind of a cool thing. And I hadn't sang in a while, and I remember the compliment from Jensen — as I went to the booth and walked out, he goes, 'You still got it.' I felt pretty good about myself."

“In the wake of ‘The Boys,’ I signed a deal with Amazon. They wanted to develop something with me in mind, so I had a few meetings with different writers and different kinds of takes for shows. When I met Derek Haas, who created #Countdown and has written all 13 scripts, I just clicked with him immediately. He and I actually grew up in the same town; we went to neighboring high schools, so we had a lot in common right off the bat. But he's just a really great storyteller, and he comes from a long line of writing really kind of intense stuff. And so the character that he created, I just felt like I could tell that story in the world that he was also creating. That led to more meetings, and then that led to some outlines. I got to read the first script, and I just really liked where it was going. I liked the kind of world that he was setting it in, and I got excited about it. I was fortunate enough to be in a position to do that and be there from the beginning, the genesis of it all, 'cause that's not normal. For most actors, everything is kind of already cooked, and then they come in - they get cast in a role that's already happening. I was kind of, not involved creatively, but I was already on the train from the beginning in the station, so that was nice. And there are some twists and turns with this show; there are some big reveals, so to speak. So I'm excited for you guys. I'm excited to get it done - we're about halfway done with the season right now. - How much was Ackles and how much was the stunt double in the prison fight scene? "Mark's fight was on the first day of filming. It was 114 degrees. It was probably 85% Jensen and 15% stunt double.
