In Communist Czechoslovakia, any source of western pop-culture was banned from the media so ADÉLA’s grandfather, who worked in german mines, smuggled posters across the border for ADÉLA’s mother. “Ain’t In LA’’ is not only for her mom but also for the millions of other girls in the world, whose dreams get overshadowed just because of where they’re from.
