Here is the beautiful scene from Wild At Heart which inspired my latest animation. By George Alexopoulos 's logic, this is not art and David Lynch is not an artist because he didn't construct every piece of the set by hand, build and play every instrument in the band, manufacture every bulb in every light, nor did he construct every cell in Nicolas Cage's body from scratch. Lynch merely Prompted the shots with words and directions instead of creating every single aspect of his film down to the dust in the air by himself. Maybe David Lynch should've tried picking up a pencil and paper to make his "films" instead!

I recently felt an urge to revisit the 1987 animated film The Brave Little Toaster. It activates a nostalgic aching deep within me and it also feels very relevant to my current work. Something about the abandoned clankers setting off into the lush green world. The vacuum cleaner reminds me of my WSS robots. 1987 was the precipice when America still could have ascended into a glorious future, instead of degenerating into the mess we have today. Sadly, this was one of the last hand-painted 2D animated films of its kind. If only we had listened to the Toaster...
