ISI-Linked ISIS-K Member Killed by Unidentified Gunmen in Orakzai Reliable sources told Al-Mirsaad that unidentified gunmen in Orakzai have killed a mid-level ISI operative who had been quietly involved in supplying and strengthening ISIS-K and was regarded as a trusted figure within the group. The man is identified as Muhammad Iqbal, son of Shamdar, originally from Kurram Agency. According to the sources, a number of sensitive documents were recovered from him. The documents suggest that the ISI has embedded additional operatives within ISIS-K, so deeply that many members of the group appear unaware of their presence. Al-Mirsaad will publish those documents in due course. Sources say Iqbal maintained close ties with Akhtar Nabi, also known as Siddiqyar, who leads an ISIS-K operational cell in Khyber. He was responsible for supplying the group's logistical hubs while simultaneously maintaining contact with the ISI and helping implement the agency's plans through ISIS-K operatives. Al-Mirsaad has also obtained images of Iqbal's Pakistani national identity card. This is not the first such incident. In recent months, unidentified gunmen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have carried out targeted killings of several senior ISIS-K figures. Sources also report a noticeable increase in militant movement across Orakzai, Khyber, Bajaur, and Kurram in recent months. They say ISIS fighters are now attempting to regroup and consolidate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the dismantling of their former strongholds in Mastung.
