Jamie Theakston's bravery in speaking up about cancer may have saved lives - prompting one person every 16 seconds to check symptoms on our website. Today I'm in Birmingham with Wes Streeting seeing one of our cancer buses that go into communities to improve early detection. ⬇️

On Christmas Day, NHS staff will dispatch around 20,000 ambulances, serve 100,000 Christmas dinners in hospitals, and deliver 1,500 babies, as they do every year. Thank you to the incredible NHS staff working really hard over the Christmas and New Year period.

Today, I am at NHS Providers conference, announcing the rollout of a new “ping and book” service on the NHS App for breast and cervical checks next month. Replacing the cost of letters and texts with pop-ups on your phone and allowing direct booking into an appointment. 🧵⬇️
