yes, time blindness is often due to trauma or neurodivergence or culture. BUT I don't understand the idea that if you have an antisocial behavior due to something that isn't your fault, you are now absolved of fixing the behavior.

Why are San Francisco women obsessed with being perceived as hot? I think a lot of nerdy women are late bloomers. They understand how to signal achievements professionally but don't realize that this "strategy" doesn't work for attraction. It comes off as masculine, heady energy when it should be embodied and fun. I also think some of it is the same awkwardness that causes people to ask others their "rank", SAT score or salaries at parties lol. *apologies for insane amount of hedging in this video*

Why does Western media follow typical East Asian name conventions (Surname, First Name) for Korea and China but not Japan? Soooo I randomly went down a rabbit hole on this a few days ago. Japan has a lot of surnames — there are about 300k surnames in Japan compared to Korea’s 200. I have a few theories about this, though! Tell me which is right: 1.Variety means that non-Japanese speakers are just very unfamiliar with Japanese surnames. 2.Japanese surnames are more complicated to pronounce for English speakers due to having more syllables. 3.*most likely yet least interesting theory* Maybe it’s a holdover from some old tradition... like maybe during the war we just used Western conventions, but now for China and Korea we follow Eastern conventions?

After living/traveling in Western Europe and living with Europeans, I have some thoughts on the AC stuff… I don’t think their resistance to AC is to spite Americans. I also don’t believe climate concerns are the real reason. IMO, Western European culture is holding a ton of collective shame that has led people to resist material abundance. Many East Asian countries also had various concerns about AC. See: fan death, natsubate etc. However, as places have become wealthier, people have adopted AC. They realize the energy concerns are minuscule compared to heatwave deaths. I understand that Western Europe doesn’t get as hot as Asia, but you’d think they’d come around by now… Thoughts?
