In January 2025, Israel had denied it was holding Dr Husam Abu Safiya, only to confirm later that it had in fact detained him. Dr Abu Safiya’s life is now reported to be in immediate danger. The UK must demand that Israel release him, now.

The two-child limit must be scrapped in full. #Budget2025

No survivor of abuse should experience post-separation harassment, including while standing for election. My Amendments to the Representation of the People Bill seek to protect survivors standing for office, from being exposed to this harm.

The Labour whip was removed from me within minutes of voting with my conscience to scrap the two-child limit. More than a year later, I’ve not had it restored, yet Peter Mandelson retains it. My intervention at today’s emergency debate:

As the daughter of Bangladeshi migrants, I am so proud of the East End’s diversity and that our communities include migrants from all around the world. Let me be very clear: I will never stand by and let migrant communities be scapegoated.

I am receiving Islamophobic abuse and death threats. During Islamophobia Awareness month, it’s important to raise awareness of Islamophobia in society.

One of the hunger strikers, Qessar Zuhrah was only transferred to hospital this afternoon, after her health rapidly deteriorated yesterday. Lives are at immediate risk and the Justice Secretary needs to intervene and act, now!

We demand urgent intervention from the Justice Secretary to protect the lives of all those on hunger strike.

There must be unconditional and immediate recognition of the State of Palestine.

I’m proud of the campaign I ran despite the situation I faced, but where has it been reported in the media? It’s not like the safety of MPs hasn’t been of public interest or newsworthy. Yet with me, there evokes a deadly silence &amp; women’s experiences are treated so differently.

End ALL arms sales to Israel now.

We will not let Muslims, migrants and minority communities continue to be targeted.

When the Tories were in power, I used my voice to call out their scapegoating and scaremongering of migrants. With Reform sweeping the local elections, I will keep using my voice to stand up for migrant rights — just as my constituents re-elected me to do.
