Some of you, i don't know whether you are just deliberately hopeful or you think whatever happening now is new? Customs? This same customs? President Atta Mills, in 2011, stormed the Tema port unannounced after one of those investigative documentaries from Anas Aremeyaw was released. Listen to his tone and how angry he sounded. Even the president, customs didn't mind him...na a mere finance minister Ato Forson? Some of you are hopeful. Very hopeful to say the least. And as Sir Peter Ustinov once said: "it is the hope that kills you."

Military men were nearly lynched at Hwidiem had it not been the protection they had from the police and the Zongo Chief. Erastus Asare Donkor writes.. "While arrangements were being made to convey the suspects to the Hwidiem Police Station, the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Hon. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, arrived at the scene with several thugs. The MP indicated that he was sent by Hon Collins Dauda, MP for the area and demanded that the Director releases the arrested kingpins including a Burkinabe immediately and remove their handcuffs, arguing that he did not want the locals to see them in handcuffs. The Director politely declined the unlawful request, maintaining that the arrests were appropriate and that the right procedure be followed through to the Police. Subesequently, the MP and the thugs became violent and forcefully snatched the handcuffs keys from one of the soldiers and took the handcuffs off the kingpins before chasing the NAIMOS team whiles going to the police station. Upon arrival at the Hwidiem Police Station to lodge a report and hand over the suspects and exhibits, a crowd of about six hundred (600) people from Hwidiem and nearby communities surrounded the station. The mob, incited by Hon. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, demanded the immediate release of the arrested suspects and seized vehicles. They warned that they would “discipline” the soldiers if their demands were not met."

Just go to Google and type "RA3 procedure LUANDA Airport." As far back as November 2024 the LUANDA airport had the capacity to do this certification. And you will realize that the minister for government communications Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, perhaps got it wrong in his explanation of why the aircraft stopped in Ghana. Clearly, it wasn't because the Luanda Airport didn't have the capacity to do the so-called required RA3 certification. There is more to this issue. And the use of national security to intimidate the respected member of parliament John Ntim Fordjour MP will not succeed.
