Check this out! 🤩 Yet another new train in my collection! 👀 I present you Chicago's "L" train! 🚇 Why is it called the L you wonder? It is just short for "Elevated"! 😁 Even though the system has a mix of elevated, subway, at-grade, and open-cut segments, newspapers as of late 1880s referred to proposed elevated railroads in Chicago as "'L' roads." CTA ( Chicago Transit Authority ), the operator of this train system kept that nickname. Here we also see the L's brand new Series 7000. Clearly it made some people happy.
