When I said we are getting at least 80% in Borno, I knew exactly what I was saying. Borno has traditionally been an APC stronghold, dating back to the days of the APP and ANPP. The political structure, grassroots network and longstanding support for the party remain unchanged in the state. This is Borno earlier today, during our City Boy Movement activities. The energy, turnout and level of engagement speak for themselves. 2027 is already taking shape and Borno remains firmly in our column.

The City Boy Movement, despite not being a registered political party, is rapidly emerging as one of the most extensive grassroots political mobilization networks, with a nationwide structure arguably broader than that of some established political platforms, including the NDC. Unlike conventional political parties, the City Boy Movement operates as a political support and mobilisation organisation, bringing together young people, volunteers and supporters around a shared political objective. Our activities have increasingly taken the organisation beyond major urban centres into communities across the six geopolitical zones. Recent engagements by the Movement in the North-East and North-West have further demonstrated the scale of its grassroots network. From town-hall meetings and stakeholder engagements to youth empowerment programmes and mobilisation activities, the Movement has continued to deepen its presence at the grassroots. The leadership of the Movement maintains that its growing national structure is a product of organisation, consistency and direct engagement with ordinary Nigerians rather than merely relying on formal political structures. We believe that the current momentum provides a strong foundation for even greater national engagement ahead of the 2027 political season and beyond. During the City Boy Movement’s North East engagement, we travelled by road from Damaturu to Maiduguri and the journey brought back memories of how far the region has come in terms of security. During the PDP years, the Damaturu–Maiduguri road was regarded as the most dangerous route in the country. There were periods when Boko Haram had such a strong presence there that they could effectively take total control of the road, making travel extremely risky and leaving passengers living in constant fear. That chapter largely became history after the APC-led government came into power in 2015 under President Buhari. Through sustained military operations, Boko Haram’s capacity to operate freely across the major highways was degraded and the group was largely confined to areas within the Sambisa Forest. So, as we travelled from Damaturu to Maiduguri, I could not help but reflect on that history. The road beneath us is more than just a highway connecting two major cities. For many residents of Yobe and Borno, it represents how much the security situation has changed since the darkest days of the Boko Haram insurgency. This is not to suggest that insecurity has been completely eliminated from the North East, far from it. Boko Haram and ISWAP remain threats and the government must continue to strengthen intelligence, equip our security forces, protect vulnerable communities and ensure that every Nigerian can travel without fear. But while demanding more from government, we must also be honest enough to acknowledge genuine progress where it has occurred.

During the ongoing City Boy Movement engagement in Maiduguri, Borno State, we launched the North East Youth Employment Initiative, a programme aimed at creating meaningful employment opportunities and empowering young people across the region. The initiative is supported by Shettima Kashim, son of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima. This is more than politics, it is about creating opportunities and giving the young people the platform to build a more prosperous future.

The former First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, along with her son, Yusuf Buhari, in Daura last night ahead of the Eid al-Adha (Babbar Sallah) celebrations. She will spend the Eid period in Daura, continuing the longstanding tradition of our late boss, former President Muhammadu Buhari, who always preferred to celebrate Eid in his hometown among his people.

Following our successful engagement in Damaturu, Yobe State, the City Boy Movement National Executive has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to continue its ongoing grassroots engagement and mobilisation activities. During the Maiduguri visit, the Director-General, Hon. Francis Shoga, will hold a town hall meeting with members of the City Boy Movement, APC support groups and other stakeholders. The programme will also feature empowerment initiatives aimed at supporting members and strengthening the Movement’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive participation.

This is the original video in which Sahara Reporters shamelessly took a screenshot of this lady, Aaliyah, and falsely claimed her name was Zainab Muhammad from Zamfara State, and also fabricated a fake story that she was going to be charged in a Sharia court for renouncing Islam. In reality, Aaliyah isn’t even a Nigerian. She is originally from Mali and a citizen of the United States. In the video, she wasn’t also talking about renouncing Islam. But Sahara Reporters, in their usual reckless and wicked fashion, twisted the story, changed her identity, and pushed a fake narrative just to stir controversy and provoke hatred toward Islam and the North.

This is Zawachiki Central Rail Station in Kano. The infrastructure being built by our great party, the APC, will stand as a lasting legacy for generations to come. Had the PDP, when it had the opportunity to govern, delivered even a fraction of what is being accomplished today, Nigeria would have been in a far better position. All thanks to our late boss, President Buhari and his successor, President Tinubu, for the initiation and the continuity.
