You can defend halala (Nikāḥ al-Taḥlīl), polygyny (Taʿaddud al-Zawjāt), the 2:1 inheritance rule, Nikāḥ al-Ṣaghīra, Qiwāmah and scripture describing wives as men’s “tilth”. I won’t. And before you mock Jauhar, understand what it represented in its historical setting. Women facing defeat, capture, enslavement and sexual violence at the hands of invading armies chose death over what they believed awaited them. Call me every filthy name you want. I would rather stand with a woman who chose death on her own terms than romanticise the world she feared being captured into. I’d die a Hindu widow a million times before being raped by a Muslim man!

A four-year-old child mauled by seven street dogs. And we’re still debating the “right” of stray dogs to occupy our streets? Dogs belong in shelters and care centres. Dangerous, rabid dogs must be “removed” immediately. Human life comes first. Every. Single. Time. India can no longer afford the hypocrisy of tolerating unchecked illegal immigration from Bangladesh and the Rohingya crisis—enabled for decades by vote-bank politics—while turning a blind eye to the systematic persecution of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. This contradiction demands decisive state action, not rhetoric. India must strictly enforce its immigration laws without exception, and simultaneously take responsibility for persecuted Bangladeshi Hindus—by fast-tracking citizenship, granting asylum, or pursuing an internationally backed solution that ensures their protection and survival.
