This is what I have said over and over again about Sengun. He could easily get frustrated and force shots over double teams but he is willing to do whatever it takes to win. Great pass by Sengun.

Two incorrect calls in the last two minutes/overtime of the Rockets-Lakers game, according to the NBA. 1st was a missed lane violation that should have been called on Marcus Smart, which would have made it a 4-point Rockets lead instead of 3 with 25 seconds left. Of course the Lakers tied the game with a 3 immediately after this free throw. 2nd was a LeBron rebound in overtime that should have been out of bounds, where the Rockets got the ball back immediately after.

Heartbreaking loss by Türkiye but despite that what a run by Alperen Sengun and Turkiye. Barely mentioned outside of Türkiye to start the tournament and came away with the first silver medal since 2001.

Fred VanVleet and Rockets coaches in Turkey working alongside Alperen Sengun. We saw different Rocket players working out together a lot last offseason and that played a big role in the Rockets 52 win season. Ime Udoka and his coaching staff have made it a point to go all over not just the country but the world to work with players during the offseason. 🎥IG: ertanbedir1

One example of the Rockets' offensive issues on some of their possessions. Sengun was looking for some type of player movement, but everyone was stationary, and the possession ended with a contested mid-range shot as the clock went down.

I’ve wondered for years if elite shooters like Kevin Durant even see or notice defenders when they take jump shots or if they only see the basket. I asked KD about that after the game “Sometimes when I lose focus I look at my defender and look for a split second back at the rim and I miss. I try to stay conscious no matter what keep my eye on the rim stay with my fundamentals.”

Ime was asked if he takes some pride in the fact that teams are starting to copy their double big lineup. Ime said he has noticed the change and how it is a copy cat league. Ime also said with a little smile on his face. “Everybody trying to be like us. They can’t really do it like us but take a little pride I guess.”

Probably the most interesting part of Ime Udoka's postgame was his discussion of the future roster, what they need to address, and not just depending on Fred and Steven coming back. “Do need to address some needs, the lack of shooting at times.” Ime went on to say maybe looking at a backup point guard and also said “Have some very interesting conversations having a little bit more of a mix instead of some duplicates out there.”
