Rep. Keating to Rubio: "I'm sure you're aware that Ukraine, country that at the time had third-largest nuclear arsenal, peacefully turned over their nuclear weapons in conjunction with Budapest Memorandum. And in exchange for U.S. commitment to defend Ukraine if it ever came under threat. The U.S. gave its word to Ukraine that it would defend them. And I find this amazing. In your opening remarks, as you took us all over the world and mentioned 15 different incidents where you have interceded — 15, the top 15 — not once did you mention Ukraine when you were prioritizing achievements that are there."

Kimmel: I like your football jersey. Supporting Ukrainian team? Chef José Andrés: My beloved Spanish team, of course. But Ukraine is my team today. They didn’t make it to World Cup, but today they're fighting the biggest match — for freedom and democracy. Kimmel: Yes, they are. Chef José Andrés: And can I tell you one more thing? Kimmel: Yes, please. Chef José Andrés: No civilian should ever be bombed. Not in Ukraine, not in Gaza, not in Lebanon, not in Israel. No war! That’s why they are my team today.

Reporter: "Zelenskyy is asking U.S. for more Patriot missiles?" Hegseth: "Where we can help Ukraine, we have. We want Ukrainians to be able to defend, and we'll find way to do that." No. The American people helped, but this has nothing to do with you. All your administration ever did was cut weapon supplies, and right before your theatrical negotiations, probably to signal to Russia whose side you are actually on. Then, for an entire year, you pressured us to surrender. Russia is openly stating they will escalate attacks on civilians. We are asking to buy Patriot missiles, not to receive them as gifts. You have a real opportunity to save lives. Instead, you give evasive answers while our time runs out.

Marta Kostyuk after reaching Roland Garros semifinals: "We played historical match today with Elina. We had very difficult night again in Ukraine, especially Kyiv. So many people dead. I want to give this match to Ukrainian people and their resilience. Thank you. Slava Ukraini! I want to point out Elina and her incredible impact on Ukrainian tennis, on Ukrainians, on me and everyone who is watching. She is an unbelievable fighter and I'm so happy to be through semifinals, but I want to thank her again for this incredible match." Marta Kostyuk has reached Roland Garros semifinals for the first time in Ukraine’s history. She became first Ukrainian in history to reach women’s semifinal of this clay-court Grand Slam.

Sen. Kennedy: Is Russia our friend? Gen. Smith: Sir, they're not. Sen. Kennedy: Between Ukraine and Russia, who do we want to win that war? Gen. Smith: Obviously, we want Ukraine to stand independently and not be consumed by Russia. Sen. Kennedy: When Putin went into Ukraine, he thought he was going to roll in and take it over in two days like thunder on a summer night, didn't he? Gen. Smith: I believe he did. Sen. Kennedy: But Ukrainian people have fought back, haven't they? Gen. Smith: Yes, sir, they've fought back. Sen. Kennedy: And they now have some of the most sophisticated drone technology in the history of the world, don't they? Gen. Smith: Sir, they do. They're doing very well with drones. Sen. Kennedy: And with limited resources they have, they're giving Russia curb-stomping, aren't they? Gen. Smith: I would say they are. Sen. Kennedy: In fact, with their limited resources, they've knocked out 40% of Russia's oil export capacity. Since January, using their drones and limited cruise missiles, they've hit oil and gas facilities within Russia over 100 times. Not on the border, within Russia. Right? Gen. Smith: Yes, sir. Sen. Kennedy: And Putin was so scared, he almost had to cancel Russia's military parade, didn't he? Gen. Smith: I will take your word for that, sir. Sen. Kennedy: Okay.

Rubio once again complains US-led negotiations between Ukraine and Russia were "unfruitful": "We invested tremendous amount of high-level time in that conflict over last year. Neither side is prepared to make concessions necessary to reach agreement." Once again, it is necessary to point out the obvious: when you have a nation trying to murder its neighbors to steal their land, and people just trying to survive, there is no middle ground. Ukrainians, as the victims of this unprovoked attack, cannot just agree to die under Russian occupation, rot in FSB torture chambers, and be thrown into unmarked mass graves to never be found. We simply want to live. There is zero room for concessions. As for Russia, they can be forced to stop killing us. You could bring them to that breaking point much faster than we can do without you, if you finally stopped this disgusting bothsidesism, stopped endless sanctions waivers, seized their shadow fleet, and armed Ukraine to the teeth.

Rubio: "Invasion of Ukraine has been strategic disaster for Russians. They are not going to achieve objectives they set out on day one, for certain, and they may not even be able to, militarily, ever achieve objectives they're demanding now in negotiations. Ukrainians not only bravely fighting, they're effectively fighting. Ukrainians have actually made some battlefield gains in the last month as well. Russians are losing 5,000 — not injured, but dying. In fact, according to Department of Defense, it is one of the first conflicts ever in which death rate is higher than casualty rate, on Russian side. It's the first time ever that you have more deaths than casualties." It is not too late to stand with Ukraine and win. Help us bring Russia to the breaking point where it can no longer sustain this war. Ukrainians are performing miracles on the battlefield, and you can help strangle Russian war machine economically and save Ukrainian civilians with air defense. Let’s win together!

Trump calls Putin and Zelenskyy "two very good people" 🤦♀️ Yeah, the guy who invaded a neighboring state and has been drowning it in blood for five years, for no reason other than wanting to go down in history as a great conqueror, is definitely not a "good person".

REP. KEATING: I have some questions about our envoy, Steve Witkoff. I mean, he met with Putin at length. He came out of that saying Putin is trustworthy. That this war criminal is a good guy. That he trusts him. Witkoff even gave advice to Ushakov, a top Putin advisor, on how to flatter our president and how to manipulate our president for the Russians. That not only provokes concern and feeling on my part that he’s not up to the job, but even colleague on Armed Services Committee on the other side of the aisle, Representative Bacon, said the guy should be removed. I must tell you, it just reinforces to me that at the end, in Ukraine there has to be some kind of military provision in place, not just words with Putin, to make sure he stops. And this is completely relevant to the Baltics, because they’re next.

RUTTE: Russia's losses are absolutely staggering. Over 30,000 per month. This means losing more men in one month than Soviet Union did in 10 years in Afghanistan. My message to young Russians and their families: "You are being sold a raw deal. Men like you who join the fight won’t be trained. The equipment they’ll provide you is substandard. There is a very high chance you’ll die or be wounded while you’re out there. And odds are that if you are wounded, you will be left to suffer in the mud and die. So when we talk about tens of thousands of Russian casualties, that’s not abstract. That will probably be you."

Rep. Keating to Rubio: "Now on Iran. Trump administration issued general license to Russia, providing billions in oil profits every month — several billion every month — fueling Putin's war machine. You didn't mention that in your opening remarks. Russia is waging war of aggression against Ukraine, and we gave them our license agreement. And we do this to Ukraine, a country that's assisting us in Iran, while we are helping Russia fund its war machine — a country that is aiding Iran against us and putting our service members in jeopardy."

KAMYSHIN: There are two nations on the continent who know how to produce 10 million drones a year. One of them wants not to integrate into Europe, but to invade. Russians have always been very vocal about their targets. When we check tanks we captured from Russia in our tank repair factories, because we grab them, repair them, and try to send them back to Russia to fight against Russia, so when we check those tanks, they never write to Kyiv. They always write to Berlin, NATO, Prague, whatever. They can't admit to themselves that they fight Ukraine only. They believe they fight with NATO. They've always been very vocal about their targets. They want to invade Europe, period. There's another nation which is also capable of producing whatever is needed in big war, and we are asking to get us integrated into Europe. So, you have to choose whether you want to have Ukraine integrated into European defense industry and European Union, rather than Russia invading. Because I've never thought that Ukraine would be integrated into European Union via security and defense road. And it looks like we will be there.

CARNEY: Russia is losing 35,000 troops a month, faster than it can replace them. They are not gaining territory. Pressure on Russian economy is mounting. Ukraine is striking increasingly deep into Russian territory. As you can see, balance of forces is moving in Ukraine’s favor.

SEN. KELLY: I've spent 15 years working with Russian cosmonauts. Took me 5 years to understand what motivated them. Number one, appearance that they were in charge of something. Two, who to blame when something goes wrong. Three, what to steal today. Only four, mission success. I think as Ukrainians, as Americans, as Brits, we're often motivated by mission success. You want organization you work for to be successful, you want your country to be successful, you want British Army to be successful, I want US Navy to be successful, I want NASA to be successful. That wasn't my experience with Russian cosmonauts I worked with. I'm talking about dozens of people that I knew well, what motivated them when they went to work every day. At the top of the list was that they really cared about the appearance that they were in charge of something, not mission success. Now, whether they were really actually in charge of it or not didn't matter so much. Mission success wasn't even number two. Number two on the list, I would say, was whether they knew who to blame when something went wrong, like placing the blame. Russians have a position in their Mission Control Center which is called "mistakes officer." When a Russian cosmonaut makes a mistake, they keep track of it and they take money out of their pay. I would say the third thing, even before mission success, was what am I going to steal from my employer today. And we would talk about that. They were very open about this. And apparently there's a saying in Russian that if you didn't steal something at work that day, you did not have a good day. For us, and I think everybody in this room here, mission success is the thing that matters more than anything else. And for the Russians I worked with, it might have been number four on the list. So I actually was not that surprised about their incompetence.

HODGES: Trump administration has failed miserably on Ukraine. They have so clearly been on Kremlin's side. All the pressure has been on Ukraine to make concessions. Fortunately, Ukraine no longer even pays much attention to that. Biden administration missed an opportunity because they never said, "We want Ukraine to win." They had this nonsense, "We're with you for as long as it takes," which means exactly zero. But at least they were providing support. Trump administration is worse and It does feel like they now realize that their approach was doomed from the beginning, because they didn't understand why the war started or how it started. They didn't understand why Ukrainians were fighting the way they were and why the Russians were failing the way they were. So despite Trump administration, I think Ukraine has changed the trajectory of the war. The last thing I'd say is that most European countries realize that the best way to prevent Russia from ever attacking a NATO country is to make sure that Ukraine defeats Russia. I think most people realize that Russia has to be defeated. That Russia will never change until they are actually crushed.

ZELENSKYY: We see that Russia is increasing its internal production of ballistic missiles. And we have deficit of anti-ballistic missiles. This is big problem. United States can produce 60 to 65 missiles per month. For today's challenges, it's nothing. We need to increase and expand production. I asked previous U.S. administration, and I'm asking today's U.S. administration: give Ukraine licenses, and we will increase production of Patriot missiles. It will be very helpful for us. It will be very helpful for Middle East, for everybody whom the United States will decide to help.

KALLAS: It clearly shows panic on Russian side. The reason they are increasing terrorist attacks they are carrying out in Ukraine is because they don’t know what to do with these things [Ukrainian drone strikes deep inside Russia]. The reason they have turned off the internet and all access to information for ordinary Russians is because otherwise they would also see what is going on. And that is of course posing some very serious questions for Putin and his regime.
