WATCH: Dr. Abdul El-Sayed melts down after Weijia Jiang's second pass at a Hasan Piker question, claiming it is the third. El-Sayed subsequently name-drops Piker into his response to a question about working with Republicans. WEIJIA JIANG: Well, there are Jewish voters in your state who are concerned about your relationship with Piker. You have condemned antisemitism but not called out his rhetoric directly. Why not? ABDUL EL-SAYED: Weijia, with all due respect this is the third time you've asked about a Twitch streamer in California. I've done four events in Michigan this week. You know what didn't come up? Twitch streamers in California. You know what did come up? Grocery prices. The fact that people can't see a doctor. The worry that they have about the quality of air and water. I'm not interested in having a conversation with streamers in California because they are not raising the prices of gas and groceries. I'm more interested in having a conversation about tariff policies and trade wars we shouldn't be fighting, about hot wars with Iran, about AI which I know we were supposed to talk about right now. So let's actually talk about the issues that are affecting people instead of getting distracted by whatever the president says we should be talking about. Their whole game is to make us fight culture wars so that we don't pay attention to the fact that the president has made $2.2 billion. His family has made even more. How about your family in Michigan? How about your ability to afford the basic things? How about the ability to believe you could see a doctor without having to potentially fall into medical debt? Those are the conversations that people are having. Those are the conversations I'm interested in having. So yeah, I'm not all that interested in having a conversation about a Twitch streamer, forgive me, when people can't afford their gas and their groceries. JIANG: Understood, Doctor. But Republicans have made it a big attack on you, so I wanted to give you the chance to clarify.

He plans to build an arch, attempts to rename the Kennedy Center, the Reflecting Pool, and on and on and on. It seems clear to me that this is going to be a big issue for Democrats running for president in 2028. I know you haven't made a decision yet about whether or not you're going to run for president, but, if you do, would you advocate for tearing down the ballroom or tearing down the arch? RUBEN GALLEGO: I think I'd be advocating for almost all of that. You know, the real stain that this president has put on this country has been the fact that he eroded democracy, right? Let's start with January 6, the fact that, for the first time ever, a U.S. president attempted an actual coup. That right there is a reason why we should not have anything's name towards him. There's a reason why even former Biden administration folks are joining with Republicans and hosting fund-raisers throughout Michigan to support Mike Rogers. Here's one of the reasons why. We've got a candidate in Abdul El-Sayed that wants to abolish ICE. He wants to defund the police. Here's a candidate that's so radical that even Democrats in Michigan are joining forces, for the first time, with Republicans to elect Mike Rogers. WELKER: Just to be very clear, there is no evidence that El-Sayed supports any terrorist organization. I just want to read this. A Washington Post analysis online found that, quote, “nearly one in three posts about El-Sayed from right-wing figures mentioned Islam, muslims, or sharia.” Are Republicans trying to scare voters based on the fact that El-Sayed would be the first Muslim senator? SCOTT: Not at all. What we're more concerned about and only concerned about is the positions he has spoken about. He's the one that said that he was committed to sharia law. No one else said that besides Abdul El-Sayed. He's the one that said he wanted to eliminate much of the national security apparatus that protects America at the same time he campaigns with Piker, who says America deserved 9/11. When you add it all up, you’ve gotta believe- WELKER: And we should say El-Sayed did denounce that on this program. El-Sayed did denounce those comments on this program. SCOTT: And he continues- and he continues to campaign with him anyways. You can’t denounce it with your words and do something different with your actions. We believe what you do, not just what you say.

So if CNN crew was attacked, that needs to be condemned, and I'm doing so right now. And we need to do a better job. BRENNAN: You are condemning it [unint]-- LEITER: --If- if- if it was- actually took place as they've reported it, absolutely condemning it. We need to rein in violence on all sides. Now, in terms of Ro Khanna, we reached out to him when we heard he was going to Israel, the Israeli embassy here in Washington. As all congressmen do, they coordinate their trip with the Israeli government. We suggested he visit with- with survivors of the October 7th massacre. That he visit the borders, so he understands the, the issues that we have in our borders and so on. He ignored that and he decided to coordinate his trip not with Israel, but with Palestinian activists and with J Street, which is a anti-government, anti-Israeli government advocacy group here in Washington. So you know he coordinated-- BRENNAN: It's a Jewish lobby group… LEITER: Well, it's-- BRENNAN: …that is supportive of a different path for Israel. LEITER: Yeah, yeah. I- I play tennis once a year. That doesn't make me a tennis player. The fact that they call themselves a Jewish organization is- is irrelevant. They're- they're- an advocacy group against the government of Israel. That has to be clear. BRENNAN: The current government, Netanyahu government. LEITER: Yes. Yes-- BRENNAN: That's what you mean, the government you work for.
