At the Boy George & Culture Club last night I met a women called Tony who was with what I assumed was her husband and she exclaimed "oh lord know I just got divorced, he's my best friend" During show I spotted her and asked if I could dedicate our song 'Faster' to her and her ex, and I asked for his name and she said on the mic 'Fat b*******! In fairness, I have tried a number of times to speak to Marilyn in private about his frankly offensive language regarding personal identity. He calls it 'common sense' but it is just hypocritical. You cannot run around in high heels and a pencil skirt and insist that everyone calls you Marilyn and not 'Peter' and then tell other people they have no right to express themselves any which way they choose. Most people who rattle on about the threat of 'trans' identity have zero interaction with anyone 'trans' and get fed by internet fear. What breaks my heart is that Marilyn, the one I used to know was a trailblazer. He would get into a taxi in full Marilyn Monroe drag, kick off his heels and declare 'I can't wait to get these ridiculous clothes off. He saw it as artifice but attacking people on a very different journey because they are not convincingly female is just the height of cruelty. For some people, it is not just a costume and as I keep saying, it is this who are least convincing that need our love. The world treats beauty with more respect than it does fragility. I love Marilyn, I always will but I have to call this out because he has had more opportunities than most but dedicates his life to crushing others. Five years ago he won a million pounds on the lottery. He should have used a chunk of it for therapy. Well, his late mother won the lottery but he spent every penny. Life is always hell when you don't know how lucky you are.

I think you can absolutely invent yourself. I mean the limitations are right there. Life is nothing like a cheese board.
