Does Alberta's new law permitting physician dual practice violate the Canada Health Act? Like many Alberta physicians, I'm concerned about what physician dual practice will mean for equitable access to medically necessary care. As a nephrologist and researcher here in Calgary, I see every day how much our patients rely on a strong public system. Moreover, a formal legal opinion obtained by Cdn Health Coalition confirms the Alberta law violates the Canada Health Act.
