Saturday is my mom’s funeral. I want to tell a story about her. When we were kids growing up in NYC, we were taught to love the NYPD and FDNY. Especially after 9/11. Every year she’d take us to run Tunnel to Towers Foundation, where you run from Brooklyn through the tunnel to the World Trade Center just like FDNY hero Stephen Siller did on September 11. She’d stop to shake every cop’s hand she could. Three years ago she was diagnosed with brain cancer. The disease and the surgery shut down her body, making it hard for her to do anything. But she wanted to run the race, and I wasn’t going to tell her she shouldn’t. So we drove up to New York from DC to run it, and of course it’s pouring rain for the race. And even though she could barely walk, she ran. I took this video of her running across the finish line. Her whole right side was shut down, and it hurt like hell, but she ran. So we just signed up to run it again this year in her honor, and are raising money for Tunnel to Towers Foundation in her name as Team Melanie Cash. There’s no organization she’d rather support. And if you want to run with us, drinks are on me after the race, which she’d also support.

The Orem Police Department in Utah just released this video of what is described as a “skirt-wearing sweater lover” vandalizing a Tesla Cybertruck, an apparent shot on Kekius Maximus. They say it caused $1200 in damage, and want to make an arrest. Here's the post from the police: "Does anyone recognize this skirt-wearing sweater lover? Okay that did sound like a randomized insult but it was literally just the ensemble this person had on. The shown individual targeted a Tesla Cybertruck with malice, keying the entire side of it, causing around $1,200 in damage. Luckily the owner had it in Sentry Mode, which records anyone getting near. Hence the video. PM us with the known info so we can teach them how to keep their hands to themselves, which is code for: Charge them with a crime."
