Early Facebook investor and Zynga founder Mark Pincus (mark pincus) vividly recalls the first time he met founder Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg). "I was lucky enough that he [Napster founder Sean Parker] decided to bring Zuckerberg in my office when they were doing their very first pre-seed round or whatever it would be called today, but they raised $500,000 from Peter Thiel and Reid Hoffman (Reid Hoffman) and me. And he came in and he was wearing those Hawaiian flip flops and basketball shorts. And he had his feet up on my conference table and handed me a card that said "I'm CEO, bitch." He was just having fun, did not care and was not looking to impress me in any way. And I was really impressed," Pincus told me in a new drop of my Power Players podcast on Yahoo Finance. From that meeting in the early 2000s, Pincus would go on to have lunch regularly with Zuckerberg as Facebook and Zynga's growth were accelerating at breakneck speeds. While Nike’s stock sinks amid several quarters of disappointment, Reebok appears to be undergoing a revival of sorts. “We do a wonderful job of content. We’re very careful of the players we select. One of our first selections was [WNBA star] Angel Reese … Her shoe has just been sold out,” NBA legend SHAQ told me at the Milken Institute conference this week. The former Laker is now Reebok’s president of basketball and the second-largest individual shareholder in its parent company, Authentic Brands Group. “We just do things that are very, very strategic,” he added. “You know, for me it’s trying to reintroduce Reebok to the kids … We’ve doubled in business [just like Authentic Brands Group CEO Jamie Salter has said] and we plan on continuing to grow.”

If you aren’t paying attention to the companies behind a new wave of AI-driven drug development, you may end up missing out on essential investment opportunities. One company that has caught my attention is Chai Discovery, co-founded in 2024 by Joshua Meier. After graduating from Harvard, Meier began working as a researcher at OpenAI during the development of GPT-1 and GPT-2. He then worked at Meta's generative biology group, where he co-led the development of ESM1, the first transformer protein-language model. Chai Discovery is currently one of the buzziest startups in AI drug development. In December, the company completed a Series B funding round, raising an additional $130 million at a valuation of $1.3 billion, cementing its unicorn status. Joshua shares his story on my Opening Bid Unfiltered podcast on Yahoo Finance, and what's next: Watch 📈Yahoo Finance: Listen: 🎙️Spotify: 🎧Apple:

Franklin Templeton CEO on private credit: "Private credit [is] here to stay. It drives me nuts when anybody says, 'Oh, it's more liquid than you think.' It is absolutely illiquid. And if you cannot withstand the illiquidity of the investment, don't get in it. OK?"
