I remember my first cold beer after months in Iraq. It was in the Six Bells pub in Farnham Surrey. I walked there from Aldershot to pick up my car at my girlfriend’s house because it was the beginning of summer and wanted to look at all the green trees and fields after weeks on end of sand sand and more sand.
