Pirates Chairman Bob Nutting invited local 17-year-old Jonah to throw out the first pitch prior to today's game. Since being diagnosed with acute T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma in September 2024, Jonah's strength and positivity has never wavered. Jonah is going into his junior year at Ridgway Area High School where he looks forward to rejoining his teammates on the golf course, basketball court and baseball field!

This morning, we hosted our 5th Annual Pirates Charities Family Walk, an event that brings together fans to combat the ongoing mental health crisis in our community. Participants had the unique experience of walking through PNC Park, meeting with players, coaches, and their families. Post-walk, participants ended on the field to soak in a truly unique and memorable moment. The event concluded engaging with local non-profits offering mental health resources. #PCFamilyWalk

Prior to tonight's game in Kansas City, David Bednar hosted 22-year-old baseball superfan Connor who was diagnosed with a rare type of leukemia at age 4. After receiving a bone marrow transplant last year, he has been battling a chronic transplant complication ever since. Today, he got to meet with David and other teammates at batting practice before watching the Pirates take on the Royals!
