Matt Ponatoski will soon have to decide whether he’s heading to the MLB or will suit up for Kentucky football AND baseball. 🏈⚾ “I’m going to be fully prepared to go to school and go be at Kentucky and enroll and go compete for a quarterback battle when I get there. But at the same time, like going and putting my best foot forward to these MLB teams and showing them like I have what it takes for you to draft me.” Ponatoski on where he is at in the decision-making. “It’s one A and one B,” Ponatoski said. “I’m going to go have a great career at Kentucky, or I’m going to go be a professional baseball player. It’s like you can’t draw it up much better.” The MLB Draft will be taking place July 11-13 in Philadelphia and Ponatoski will soon have to make a decision in a few months. 😼 #BBN

Have we seen the last of Jayden Quaintance in a Kentucky jersey? 🤔 After missing three straight games with swelling in his surgically repaired knee, Quaintance’s timeline is suddenly unclear. Following Kentucky’s comeback win over Tennessee, Goodman said his status is “iffy” and that there’s a “good chance” he doesn’t return this season. “Iffy for the near future. The soonest we’re gonna see him back is probably a week or two, and there’s a good chance he doesn’t come back this year. Who knows,” Goodman said. That’s not what BBN wanted to hear. A healthy Quaintance could change Kentucky’s ceiling in a big way, especially for a team still trying to find consistency. But even if he does come back, the rotation is crowded. Malachi Moreno has earned heavy minutes, while Andrija Jelavic and Mo Dioubate have played their way into bigger roles. If Quaintance doesn’t return, his talent will still be remembered with the comeback vs. St. John’s in Catlanta to flashes of why he’s projected as a potential NBA lottery pick. And if this is it for his Kentucky career, the rise of Moreno might help soften the blow. Mark Pope is taking a unique approach to building chemistry ahead of his third season at Kentucky. 🏀 All 14 scholarship players will live together in the Wildcat Coal Lodge this summer as the Wildcats begin an eight-week stretch of workouts, skill instruction, conditioning, and team bonding starting June 15. "The guys are all living in the lodge full-time during the course of the summer," Pope said. The Wildcats will also stay active in the community, with Pope emphasizing that building relationships off the court is just as important as what happens on it. 😼 #BBN

I keep going back to that Auburn vs. Kentucky game last year, where Mark Pope brought almost no energy, the players were just sitting there barely clapping, meanwhile Bruce Pearl had Auburn fired up, players yelling, chanting, and huddling up as a team. I just want to see Pope bring that same fire and hold his guys accountable. This program needs juice again. 🔥🏀 #BBN
