Addressing the media, HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma mentioned that over 31,000 families in Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat districts have received ₹15,000 in one-time assistance today. HCM said that earlier, over 64,000 families had received the assistance, taking the total number of beneficiaries to over 96,000 families. The State Government has so far spent over ₹146 crore on this assistance. On the flood damage assessment, HCM mentioned that the first round of surveys is nearing completion. A second round will begin from 1–2 September to address any omissions or grievances. The survey will be completed by 10–11 September and the final list will be uploaded by 15–16 September. If required, a third round of surveys will also be conducted.
