A Turkish boxer murdered a florist in cold blood by punching him so hard that it shattered his skull. The victim’s sister had the audacity to share a photo of the fighter’s wife’s floral bouquet on the shop’s Instagram page. The woman got mad about it and sent her husband to confront the florist. JD Vance on the housing crisis: "In some ways, Joe, the game is rigged." JD Vance tells Rogan about an engineer out-earning 90% of her generation who sees literally what her parents had as unachievable. He gives an example of Oceanside, San Diego once full of enlisted Marines' kids where every house is now north of a million dollars. His warning to Republicans: "Socialism is the alternative" if the dream stays out of reach. The housing crisis has reached the point where working harder than most of your generation no longer buys what one enlisted salary used to. Whichever party offers a credible way back owns the priced-out generation.

"The Democratic Party brand is bullshit" Abdul El-Sayed, put the line that he diagnosed the Democratic brand as bullshit, says he is a Democrat because the other party doesn't believe people like him deserve anything, and that the rot started when the unions were broken. Democrats funded by unions and Republicans by corporations, right-to-work letting everyone free ride on union bargaining, membership and money gone, Democrats going to the same corporations for the easy money, the era of big government declared over under Clinton, a neoliberal turn toward privatising everything etc. He says that left the party in a bind it never escaped. It's the working people's party on paper, but funded by the corporations in practice. So the answer to "we want healthcare for you" became "we're going to empower big corporations to provide it", which he says is where people stopped believing them.
