GAME OF THE YEAR!!! There were 3 buzzer beaters in tonight’s section 6AAA final between Benilde-St. Margaret’s vs. Orono. Jaleel Donley bank-in three to end regulation. 70-70. Brady Wooley lay-in at the end of OT. 73-73. Nolan Groves HALF-COURT buzzer-beater in 2OT. 86-84.

From 3rd grade to senior year, the seniors on the Hopkins football team had only experienced one win in their football careers. A thrilling OT win over Eastview last Friday made it two. The Royal seniors are a testament to working hard, loving a sport, and never giving up.

An upset in boys basketball tonight - St. Louis Park takes down Hopkins, 81-68. The Orioles were down one, but outscored Hopkins 21-9 the rest of the way. Matthew Johnson & Jacob Natzel carried SLP. SLP hasn’t beaten Hopkins in over 20 years - that’s how far records go back.

A great finish in the Section 5A girls soccer final. Scoreless in 2OT, Providence Academy’s Maddyn Greenway gets behind Breck’s back line and scores the game-winning golden goal. The Lions lost to Breck twice in the regular season, they win the third and get back to state.

25 Wayzata Trojans student-athletes signed this morning to play either at the D1 or D2 level. 3 of those 25 were Trojan basketball players. Nolen Anderson is staying home to play at the U of M. Christian Wiggins is headed to Iowa State. Kate Amelotte will play at Creighton.

Highlights of another fantastic Section 6AA Final, this time in front of a sold out Ridder Arena. Bode McConnell scored in the first, Chris Pyle tied it in the second, Mason West (x2) and Freddie Schneider scored three unanswered in the third to send the Hornets back to the X.
