I'm pleased to announce that Rush Hospital has officially been designated as a safe space for Chicago's youth. To support this important initiative, I've directed CPD to permit sideshows at the surrounding intersections whenever the youth feel the need to showcase their stolen vehicles. This is a safe space intended for the silly kids, not law abiding residents, so please stay out of their way.

Another teen takeover last night, this time at North Avenue Beach, involved more than 100 of Chicago’s finest youths. When they got bored enjoying the sand, they moved west. -A group of teens attacked someone at State and Division. -Some kids attempted to steal an SUV at LaSalle and Clark. -A woman was hit at Elm and Lake Shore Drive. -One kid was caught with a gun. -Another fight broke out at Clark and North. At about the same time police were dealing with a takeover involving hundreds of kids at 57th Street Beach. Just blocks away, three men were shot. Please choose Chicago as your vacation destination this summer, where you can interact with the wildlife and savor the food. And remember, don’t demonize our youth who are just looking for something to do.

Another successful day of traffic management in Mayor Johnson’s Chicago. A large group of motorcycles is stopped on Lake Shore Drive when a car squeezes between two of them. The driver pauses, turns her wheels, and appears to intentionally hit one of the riders. The driver appears to be a Black woman, and the car has so many dents that one more won't be noticed. Then she apparently decides she’s done waiting, takes off, and nearly hits someone else while leaving. I’m amazed that a group that large let the car disappear down the road peacefully.

Consequences? As we all know also optional. And somehow people still can’t figure out why lawlessness keeps getting worse. On the bright side, nobody got shot, so I guess we’re calling this a successful afternoon.

No license plate, but somehow the cop is the problem for pulling you over. So naturally, you catch an attitude, mouth off, record it, and post the video expecting everyone to tell you how wrong the officer was. This isn’t harassment. It’s a traffic stop. Amazing how difficult some of you people can make the simplest situation. I hope they towed the car and handed you a nice stack of tickets to go with the video.
