Lamar’s interception: Deep Smash against C3. If Vega doesn’t get beat so quick, Lamar has time to hold the MOF safety and put the field corner in conflict. One of the two routes should come open. Instead, the poor protection sped up Lamar’s internal clock, and he forced a bad throw. Game over.

3rd & long. The Ravens run a variation of “Nickel Spin.” Nickel pressure from the field. Safeties rotate toward the passing strength. Three-deep, three-under. Guys are in position to make a play, even get a lollipop-ass throw…and still, nobody makes one.

Jesse Minter might be sick in the head. Looks like he gets to an inverted Cover-2 from a three-high presentation?!? Absurd.

Impossibly great play by Lamar Jackson. Maybe his best ever. But why are two people unblocked on a four man rush on 3rd down?

Been receiving a lot of questions about the Browns’ big gain on “Dagger Mesh” during their final drive. Here are my thoughts: (Take this with a grain of salt. This is simply my analysis, not fact) 1. This is quite literally the perfect play call against just about any zone coverage, especially Tampa 2. If there's anyone to “blame” I lean more toward Minter for calling a coverage without match principles built in. 2. It looks like the Ravens were in Minter’s “Miami” variation of Tampa, which is Tampa from man alignments. It operates with “Vision & Break” principles rather than match principles. 3. In this coverage, the strong corner (Wiggins) is instructed to aggressively reroute No. 1 before sinking. The coaching point is to “sink until the ball brings you back down.” Meanwhile, the strong safety (Hawkins) plays a Tampa 1/2 technique, working to a wider landmark and using No. 1’s release to determine his width. 4. To me, Wiggins and Hawkins appear to be playing the coverage as designed, but the concept simply had an answer for it. Could they have been more aggressive with their depth, positioning, or route recognition? Absolutely. But there's a difference between poor execution and a coverage being vulnerable to a particular concept. 5. Personally, I don't love this call from Minter in that situation. I'd much rather see a coverage with match principles that can eliminate some of those voids and give defenders more flexibility to adjust to on the fly. Sometimes the offense just has the perfect answer for what the defense is playing. I think this was one of those instances.

Call me crazy, but this does not look like a healthy Lamar Jackson run… Tranquill is a very athletic LB, but Lamar should have no problem beating him to that spot.

Nice-looking pressure design here from Minter. Double B-gap overload with the SAM bluffing to the passing strength. Almost gets home.
