This is why I felt so out of it. 10 years today. I take solace in the fact that my mother loved us well and did her best for us. She was a fighter, protector and provider. She loved all of us equally and never spoke a bad word about one of my siblings to me. She endured the loss of a child with dignity and later in life would be the matriarch of the family. Keeping us together when it seems we were drifting apart. Whoever came to visit, never left empty handed. I remember Geraldine and Jasper , adopted kids that she fed and nurtured through their formative years. She was there at my lowest points in life and never failed to support me.. She could cook up a storm in the kitchen and sew dresses for us and if Matthew Duiker would allow it she would make him an underpants. The death of my brother almost destroyed her, but again she rose from the ashes to keep the home fires burning during the most terrible times her life. She loved all her grand kids equally and often talked of Cheyenne and Edwynne and just wished she could see them. Go in peace my sweet mother. Till we meet again. Hamba Kahle. lala uxolo.
