Brock Purdy was asked what will it mean to him to be the All-time Passer Rating Leader (in 5 passes): “I guess it’s a good thing, but at the same time I’m not getting done with games and going 'Alright, was my passer rating at least 100 and something?', I could really care less about that. It’s more so 'Did I do my job well for my teammates. Did I compete and do everything I could to help this team win'.”

Mike Evans on what he said to Trevon Diggs: “I was blocking him until the whistle and he said I’m doing extra or something like that, and I didn’t know that was him at first because I played against him a few times and we’ve always been cool. He’s a good player. I honestly didn’t know it was him because in the helmet it’s hard to tell sometimes. I said who are you and looked to make sure and I was like 'Oh, it’s fucking Diggs', and then he mushed me. That should have been a penalty. It is what it is.”

Kyle Shanahan was asked if he’s ever had this much confidence as a play caller in a quarterback that he has with Brock right now: “Yes, I had that with Matt Ryan in 2016, had it in Matt Schaub way back in the day and I’ve had it with Brock I think 4 years in a row now.”

LeSean McCoy on Daejeon Love: “I love Daejeon Love and let me tell you why. Every time a man does something they want to crucify us for it. I watch women do this all the freaking time… I’ve been finessed a lot. You see her and you’re like 'Damn, she’s got herself together. She seems educated. Nice house, nice car. She talks proper. Nice teeth'. Then you date her, she’s your girlfriend, you live with her and you’re like 'Yo this girl’s a bum'.” McCoy goes on to give an example on how he was played by a woman in the past 🎥: Speakeasy

Drew Brees was asked if he knew instantly that Brock Purdy was gonna be great: “I don’t know if instantly, but if you go back and just look at his college attributes, the guy started 51 games at Iowa State, just about every time they stepped onto the field they were the underdogs. So for all those reasons, this guy has played with a chip on his shoulder his entire career and he’s had to figure out ways to win. He’s wired himself, trained himself, to play that way. Now all of a sudden you put a really smart guy into a system with Shanahan, where all of a sudden he’s got all these weapons around him. So much of that offense is around timing and rhythm. He plays with such a great base. He’s got great fundamentals. He gets the ball out quickly. He works his way through a progression well. He’s got all these traits that you would want for a quarterback, especially in that offense.” 🎥: Herd w/Colin Cowherd

LeSean McCoy on Brock Purdy: “This is the thing nowadays, it can’t just be like he’s really really good. He’s really really good. It’s either gotta be great and elite or you’re terrible. There’s nothing in the middle. I think Brock Purdy today, it’s not the first time Brock Purdy has played MVP caliber football, I think Brock is a phenomenal quarterback. He’s really really good. He’s damn good… I have a lot of respect for Brock Purdy and if he wins an MVP I’ll have even more respect for him, but for me, being around this game and watching it, and playing in it, there’s no way I’m ever gonna put Brock Purdy in the same boat as Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. It’s just never gonna happen. But you can’t say he’s not playing as good as them guys.” 🎥: Speakeasy

Kyle Shanahan on the 49ers philosophy with drafting offensive linemen: “By no means do we go into it and say it’s just our philosophy not to take those guys early, but we just don’t take them to take them. One thing I noticed a lot in this league, I think a lot of people take Olinemen just to take them. It’s one of safest things to do. If you take an Olineman, very rarely are you gonna get questioned. Very rarely does it turn into busts, even if they’re just an average guy. A guy who’s in the first round and plays like a fourth round guy, but still plays like a starter, there’s not that much difference. It’s hard to find starters, first round, fourth round, whatever, but there’s not that much of a difference until you find like a Pro Bowl type dude.” 🎥: 49ers on NBCS
