25 years ago I was invited to my first ever BRIT Awards ceremony, I was nominated for 6 awards that night (every category I was eligible for) which for a UK Garage/R&B artist was unheard of at the time 😮💨🙏🏾 Due to a leak in the press, we all knew ahead of time I wouldn’t be taking home any awards 📰🏆👀 The energy, the encouragement, the genuine respect from so many artists I admired was the real win 👑💫 It reminded me that awards are one thing, but impact, connection and earning your place in the room is something much deeper 🩵✨ It became a career defining night for me & something that taught me early on to always enjoy the journey & remember to celebrate all of life’s seen & unseen wins 💐
