.Tyrese Haliburton talks about his pre-draft workout with the Warriors 💔 "And I'll tell you about my Golden State workout, that was the best workout of my life, the best workout of my life. I know everybody says that about their workouts, like 'Ah, that's the best workout of my life.' No, no, no, it was the best workout of my life. I didn't miss because I went in I was like 'This is perfect' because I know I could play in that system and Steph wants to play off ball. That allows me to have the rock and then I could find him. I'm like 'Oh, this could be OD.' So I'm like 'I got to have a good workout.' I swear I didn't miss and then Steve [Kerr] stepped into my workout and was like 'He needs to do conditioning shooting, we need to see it full court' and then I didn't miss again and I was like 'They're drafting me at 2' and then in the interview they were like 'We know you fit us perfect. We know you fit us perfect, but we don't know if we could draft you at 2."

.Shams Charania on the Warriors 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ "The Warriors could've got in the Jaylen Brown sweepstakes if they wanted to give up 4 first round picks-ish, in that range. They decided not to from my understanding. Those 2 teams, the Warriors and Celtics did talk about a Jaylen Brown trade around the trade deadline and it was around several first round draft picks, potential swaps, and seconds. The Warriors decided not to go down that route and so that's on them. That's the decision they made. If they had went out and got that done, does that make LeBron James more viable? If the Warriors had gone out and been willing to give up several draft capital to go get an Anthony Davis from Washington, does LeBron James follow suit? My understanding was if the Warriors were able to get Anthony Davis, they had as good of a chance, if not better than anyone, to get a LeBron James and I think you have to look at that in the calculus of everything."

.Tim Kawakami on Joe Lacob's goal: "What Lacob wants to do and this might get Warriors' fans mad, but he wants to build the next team after Steph Curry. I don't know how possible that is, but Lacob has a very keen interest in 'This organization is going to show what it can do with Steph Curry and then after Steph Curry.' I don't think it's going to be as good myself, but that's what he wants to do."

Joe Lacob on the Warriors drafting Jonathan Kuminga: "I do not view Jonathan Kuminga as a mistake. I think we may have made some mistakes in how would we handle it and how he handled it, maybe he made some mistakes, and obviously that's well documented and we had to move on, but he's an NBA player and played in the playoffs, and did really well. This not a mistake at the 7th pick. There were 7th picks that are out of the League."

Draymond Green defends Steph Curry in response to the recent statements made by Monta Ellis and Jeff Teague: "I didn't necessarily agree with Jeff Teague's statement about Dame either and it has nothing to do with who Dame is as a player. Dame is great, 1st ballot Hall of Famer, special, special, special talent. It has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with that's just not how you win championships. You don't win championships by 'Ah man, move this player' because there's so much more that goes into it. It's not just the basketball. It's the makeup of the person. How does that guy lead? How does the organization then fall into place with that guy being the face of the organization? It's so many other things that goes into it other than just once you step out there and lace the shoes up and go play the basketball game. So I think these statements are null and void and kind of irrelevant because that's just not how championships work. Championships, they're built over time, demeanor, right? Who's to say Monta Ellis in our locker room of our championship teams, who's to say Monta Ellis and his demeanor and how he acts on the daily and how he show up to work on the daily, would lead to the locker room being the same as it is with Steph at the helm? . . . I think [the statements] also takes away what Steph Curry is as a leader, who he is as a leader. I think it also takes away from that. I just don't love these statements in general because it's a false sense of what winning a championship actually requires and quite honestly, that's just now how it goes."

.Bill Simmons on the Warriors: "Why didn't [the Warriors] trade for Jaylen Brown? They weren't interested in him. They weren't interested. They didn't even counter. When the Celtics were canvassing the league doing the Jaylen [Brown] fire sale, Warriors by all accounts, both sides, just not interested for Jimmy Butler's expiring and some picks. And the irony is if they do that, I think LeBron goes there, right?"

Doc Rivers talks about what people fail to recognize about Steph Curry: "I think the thing that people miss the most with Steph because he's this nice guy, he does all the charitable work, everything he says is right, like he's the most coachable star and one day we're going to have a podcast about that 'Why Steph has won over some of the other guys?' and because I'm a coach, I really believe a lot of it is he allowed himself to be coached and I think that's part of it, but what we miss with him is he's a stone-cold-blooded killer, just like Kobe and Michael. He just doesn't come off that way, but he's exactly like them and people miss that with him. They misforecast him, his toughness and his grit, they really do."

.Vincent Goodwill on the Warriors and Steph Curry: "This whole 2 timeline garbage that [the Warriors] were trying to pull off, like that's where all of this sort of stems from is 'We're trying to ahead of Steph Curry' as opposed to 'Hey man, let's see if we can maximize and make the best of this.' Steph has never really threatened to go anywhere and the Warriors know that and that's why they've been able to do the things that they've been doing. If Steph kicked it a completely different way, then we would be having different conversations. I think this is the first salvo of 'Hey, don't take me for granted here.'"

.bomani on the Warriors: "Ever since [the Warriors] went on that 2 timelines nonsense, they have been actively trying to prepare for tomorrow and this league doesn't really allow you to play for tomorrow and play for today at the same time. It's amazing they won the championship when they did. And why did they win that championship when they did? Because they had Steph Curry. That's why. They still have Steph Curry and this isn't like the last couple years for the Lakers, where like Kobe was cooked, so 'No, we're definitely playing for tomorrow and we just got him here to sell tickets and make people feel better about it.' That's not what's going on here guys. You got the guy and he's still pretty good right now and you're out loud talking about 'What're we going to do tomorrow?' That's the beauty of being the owner, can't nobody fire you for being stupid."

Joe Lacob on Mike Dunleavy Jr. "I don't care what anybody says, this guy is one of the best GM's in the League. I love him. I think he's great. He's really smart, incredibly hard working, has done a great job with the draft since he's been here from what I can see, 2nd round picks that have been certainly shot above their weight if you will. Yaxel looks really good, was the Summer League MVP. I mean he takes a great interest in the organization as a whole. Mike is really good and I'm really happy to have him as the guy making the basketball decisions on our side."

Marcus Thompson (Marcus Thompson II) on his takeaway from the Mike Dunleavy Jr. press conference: "It sounded like we're about 6 months away from the plug being pulled on this era. Essentially the trade deadline is February 11th and the new talking point is 'Hey, we got expiring contracts, $100 million.' Those are only valuable up until February 11th, so you got 6 months. It's 6 months and really less when the season starts on October 21st, so you're really looking at 4 months to prove this team is worth keeping together. If not, you cash in them chips. It's probably 6 months left for the Draymond Green era. He's on a 1 year deal, $27.8 million, and doesn't have a no-trade clause, so that's a very tradable contract. It felt like this has been coming for a while, but this, the way Dunleavy was talking, and the way they positioned it, this feels like 'Alright, let's see where we are in February because if we're not where we need to be, then we're just going to start selling pieces off and starting over.' That's what it felt like to me. I don't know how you felt about it, but the talk about $100 million, the talk about still waiting to make a move, these are chips that have to be used by February 11th. There's no more Kuminga chip. There's no more young talent to trade. The last chips are these expiring contracts. That is Jimmy Butler. That is Draymond Green. That is Kristaps Porzingis. It's these big pieces that they can essentially cash in and if they cash in 1, they might as well cash in all of them because I don't know what 1 is giving you to make you keep the other 2."

Draymond Green (Draymond Green) on why he declined his player option: “I’m always willing to work with the team on whatever it is, especially at this point in my career. So my decision to opt out was for a few reasons. As you all know, I’ve always taken the approach of working with the organization. I’ve been in 1 place for 14 years. It’s more of a family to me than anything. Like you’re talking people I’ve been in relationships with over the course of the last 14 years. I view Golden State more like Michigan State, like it’s more like an alma mater to me as I’ve been somewhere for 14 years. So, when in a position to try to help better our team, to try to help better this organization, I’m always intrigued by that route. So opting out, I think for us, it leaves optionality. It gives optionality. It allows to possibly do some things. Joe Lacob, Peter Guber, the ownership group has never been one to shy away from doing things that help this team get better and if I can stand on that same side and have a hand in helping this organization be in a better position, I’m always willing to do that. So it gives everyone optionality from me opting out and we’ll figure it out from here on what’s the best course moving forward. So I feel great about it and we’ll see where it goes from here.”

Andre Iguodala (andre) talks about Steph Curry's ejection in Game 6 of the 2015-2016 NBA Finals and his lack of a better whistle: "So imagine that. We already said this, the greatest human being like after Gandhi and them, right? Mother Teresa. What does it take to make [Steph Curry] mad? You know how he be getting beat up. He doesn't get fouls. He's probably the least free throw attempts throughout his career. He's the least free throw attempts by a Hall of Famer of all time. The least. He goes to the hole and he gets fouled coming off screens."
