Free thinker, despiser of totalitarianism. Branded an "intellectual terrorist" by Democrats. I'm sorry Smokey, you were over the line.

I’m traveling through Eastern Europe and the Balkans. I’m in Belgrade now, and the below video is the Orthodox Church of Saint Sava, and it is breathtakingly beautiful. I am struck by the fact that these former communist countries, whose citizens were forced to embrace atheism and abandon their traditional Christian faiths for decades, came out on the other side with their faiths reaffirmed and vibrant. Contrast this with Western Europe, where Christian faith is looked upon as mere tradition and superstition, with priceless cathedrals abandoned as sterile museums. The death of Western Europe is the abandonment of the faith that built it, and if Western Civilization is to survive in Europe, it will be the Eastern Europeans who carry the standard.

RE: Credentialism Credentialism is killing Western society. Credentials used to be based on experience and success. Somewhere along the way paper credentials alone became more important than using those paper credentials to achieve success. And the people with that paper decided that only those who thought like them could have such paper. Our society nearly disintegrated during COVID thanks to credentialism. So many segments of our society are floundering based on a perverse view of credentials. I have a lot of credentials myself, which is part of why have such scorn for people who rely on their credentials alone rather than put forth compelling, persuasive arguments as part of logical debate. Also. I’m still sick in bed and bored so I wrote another song.

OK, I know I have been continuously playing with Suno AI while I keep trying to beat a cold that won’t go away. Yuk. Maybe that annoys some of you. (I know for sure it annoys Mrs. Dr. Publius.) But I’ll get better soon. The thing I have been trying to do for my own personal enjoyment is to create eccentric covers of well known songs. Which is a problem for actual songs, as Suno will block copyrighted lyrics for popular songs. So when I tried to put The Ramones’ “I Wanna Be Sedated” as sung by an operatic tenor, I was blocked. So the key was to find lyrics I copyrighted myself ("My Side of History”), or find uncopyrigthed lyrics (i.e, "C-130 Rollin’ Down The Strip”), or copyrights that are transformable by fair use (the intro to “Patton”) But you know whose copyright is so old that we all have it? Billy Shakespeare, God bless him. And what is Bill’s most eloquent speech about military battle against hopeless odd? Well, “Henry V” of course, and Billy’s prose is available for all of us. Just so you know, I tried about 30 different styles for this, and Bluegrass worked the best. Who knew? Alright now you sons-of-bitches. You know how I feel.
