My childhood memories of Easter are of my Mother in an Easter hat, extra long Mass followed by egg hunts, purple cellophane wrapped woven baskets, lamb for supper, and a surprise pet rabbit. As I grew into a Young Man, I came to understand Easter as the most and only important day in our lives. Without the Resurrection, we are all damned — now we have a chance at Eternal life with God in Heaven. As a Man, I now realize how much I owe my parents for instilling their Faith in me, in part by making our holidays so fun and meaningful. The most important inheritance I can leave my children is their faith in God. I am blessed to have my wife Mary Helen as we work as one in this mission. My Mother died of Breast Cancer in 2004 and my Father of Parkinson’s in 2021. Although Mom never met our kids, I think of her every day and work to live up to the model they set. My in-laws are my parents now, and they provide a wonderful example for our children. The family is the basis of our lives and the foundation of our country. I will be a U.S. Senator who puts family first, and will work for us to live lives where Americans can come together and form families, without regard to societal economic pressures. I will work to end the war on decency and protect our children from conception to natural death, without exception. May the Peace of Christ fill your hearts today, and be with you always.
