I’ve spent a ton of time at top universities and here’s what I've noticed: The freshman walking in the door at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard University, Tufts University, Princeton University, Stanford University, etc. are nearly identical. Same SAT scores, same drive, same raw talent. But the fraction that come out the other side and start a company? Wildly different. Stanford is way out in front. Princeton is shockingly far behind. When I ask them why, the answer is almost always the same: "I went down this path because someone two years ahead of me did it. I watched them, I learned from them, and I did what they did." It's a culture thing, and it propagates like wildfire. All you need is a small hand full of breakout success stories and that will inspire dozens of others to follow suit. If you're a student at a school that doesn't have entrepreneurial culture yet, you have a massive opportunity to be the trailblazer who kickstarts it.

2.8 trillion parameters. Number one on frontend code arena. The largest open-weight model ever. Sputnik moment? It’s totally mind boggling that Elon Musk can spend $16 billion on Colossus 2 for a 20 trillion parameter model, and there's a 1% cost distilled version that’s coming out of China within weeks. Alex Karp said last week that you can’t throw all your proprietary weights over the wall to Anthropic. But he didn’t give a roadmap. Here we are, a week later, and it’s suddenly a free-for-all. Intelligence wants to be free.

We’re living in a 3–5 year window right now. If you can anticipate what people will want in an age of abundance, understand what unlocks new AI capabilities, what data it needs, and what components you can build; this is the best time in history to execute. Execution just keeps getting cheaper and vision is the differentiator.

Planet Labs is now a $10 BILLION company building orbital AI data centers. Stock up 450% in a year. Founder and CEO, Will Marshall, laid it out for us on the pod: everyone except SpaceX pays the SpaceX launch tax. Everyone except NVIDIA and Google pays the Nvidia tax. In the near term, there’s a launch bottleneck. Forever, there’s a compute constraint.

Sam Altman said OpenAI would deliver 100x cheaper intelligence by end of 2027. I said we'd get there in one year, not two. Google's TurboQuant breakthrough compresses AI memory usage by 6x during inference, but everyone's missing the real story. It's not about running models on your phone. It's that the smartest AIs can now hold more context, or use 8x more thinking tokens, or you can train 8x larger models. We'll use some combination of those to get the best results. And this is just one of a dozen compounding breakthroughs. AI is helping improving AI, and that loop is accelerating. At this rate, we might blow past 100x by summer!

We're in a very narrow window of time right now where the very best technology is available to you. Frontier labs and open models are delivering state-of-the-art capability to anyone willing to build. But security, safety, and rapid self-improvement will inevitably change what that access looks like. The edge is available today, and windows like this don’t stay open for very long.

Spent a few hours riffing with Elon Musk and Peter H. Diamandis, MD on the benefits that AI will bring to humanity, and how all of Elon’s companies are converging on market leading AI as an operational necessity. Watch the latest Moonshots episode, live NOW!

In one night last week I opened an Amazon Bedrock account and had OpenClaw running in a secure environment in under 10 minutes. Credit card, browser, done and instantly able to connect to all of our enterprise emails and systems. Agents in enterprise cloud is one of the unlocks businesses have been waiting for. Agents will save so much time allocated to communication and manual processes and even automated processes that need to be reconfigured a lot.

A key part of the abundance thesis is robots performing highly specialized tasks. It’s the only way we’ll be able to create cheap and widely available housing, healthcare, childcare, and education. The costs of all of these specialized services have been ballooning out of control. Chart👇
