Gliders India Limited (GIL) has successfully carried out the first live jumps of its newly developed Advanced Parachute System. The system was designed along with #ADRDE. Two parachutes, cleared by DGAQA and certified by CEMILAC (RCMA Kanpur), were tested on 20 February 2026 at the Malpura Drop Zone in Agra. The new parachute system supports multiple deployment modes, allowing jumps from different heights. This achievement strengthens India’s effort to develop modern and reliable equipment for the Armed Forces.

Sensor fusion for a 5th gen fighter is a crucial step, it is the “brain” of the jet..means software layer + processing hardware that combines data streams to give the pilot a single, coherent picture. ▪️Radar, IRST, DAS, RWR all see the same target differently...fusion core aligns them in time/angle/range (using Kalman filters, AI/ML). ▪️If Radar sees a blip at 50 km, 40° right, and IRST sees a hot spot in same direction, fusion merges them > one target track, not 2...conflicting reports are resolved by probability weighting. ▪️Each sensor assigns confidence values (radar strong return means high confidence; DAS faint signal means low confidence)..fusion engine promotes/demotes tracks accordingly. ▪️Pilot doesn’t see “raw radar/IR”...Instead, cockpit displays a fused 360° battlespace map like friend/foe tagging (via IFF+datalink)..sensor cross-cued (e.g., IRST cues radar for lock, DAS cues MAWS) on priority. #AMCA
