Australian magpie* parents try to teach their baby to sing by demonstrating how, then they walk away all embarrassed by it's dismal efforts! (Cassican flûteur*) The babies do take quite a while to develop that singing voice though, for about a year they sound completely different to their parents, and they take just as long or longer to grow their black and white plumage so they stay with their parents for quite a while too compared to many other Australian bird species.
