This is a message I want every little one to hear. There was a time in my life where I worked so hard to earn a crown that was always going to be temporary. I ended up rooting my purpose, identity and value in something that wasn’t going to last and it sent me on a rollercoaster of emotions! If I had one piece of advice for young people, it would be to root your purpose, identity and value in something that is trustworthy, bigger than yourself and everlasting — ultimately, who God created you to be!

Today would have been my little sister Franje’s 19th birthday. Today we celebrate her in heaven, where she is fully loved, fully known, and fully healed! Franje’s life has taught me so many lessons in love, loss and grief, but one of the greatest lessons is: Instead of asking God “Why?” try asking God “Where?” When the unanswered questions become too overwhelming and burdensome, I encourage you to try seeking God and where He is working in your life, instead of questioning Him.
