If you’ve followed me for a long time, you know how important educators and education is to me. That said, last week it was brought to attention the funding crisis my hometown, Jefferson, NJ, has been faced with. Jefferson Twp has already closed schools, cut programs, educators and supporting staff, but can’t make up the near $5mil deficit, due in large part to the restrictions placed on the township by the Highlands Act. I’m speaking with local leaders and administrators to see what more I can do to help the town that raised me. But for now, we’re asking Governor Mikie Sherrill to consider Highlands Impact Aid Now to better support Highlands communities. #HighlandsImpactAidNOW
