With the 74th session of the #WHOAFRO Regional Committee approaching, scheduled to take place in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, from 26 to 30 August 2024, I want to express my gratitude to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu, for her endorsement and the support extended by the Government of Tanzania in this campaign. The moment has arrived for transformative leadership. We know the science behind good interventions. We also know how to implement effective interventions. What is missing, however, is the essential involvement of policymakers and political leaders. Achieving the #SDGs targets requires the active engagement of policymakers and political leaders. That is why #WHOAFRO needs a transformational leader, not a transactional one. Good public health depends on good policy and politics. #Ndugulile4WHOAfro
