Hosted a luncheon interaction at my New Delhi residence for young Delhi based Medical alumni from #Jammu, most of them from Government Medical College Jammu who had been my students during my years as Professor of Medicine & Diabetes there. It was particularly gratifying to meet these former students and see how well they had progressed in their professional lives and are now serving in senior positions across hospitals and healthcare institutions in Delhi-NCR. At the same time, the gathering also brought together medical professionals from diverse specialities, including Medicine, neurology, pulmonary medicine, oncology, psychiatry, pharmacology, paediatrics, gastroenterology, hepatology, radiology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery and hospital administration. Among those present were Dr. Sheikh Yasir Islam, Professor of Medicine, Lady Hardinge Medical College; Dr. Sujata Thapa, Professor of Medicine, RML Hospital; Dr. Padma Lahdol, Assistant Professor of Medicine, RML Hospital; Dr. Akhil, Associate Professor of Neurology, Lady Hardinge Medical College; Dr. Atul, Oncologist, Max Hospital, Noida; Dr. Ekta Arora, Associate Professor, GIMS; Dr. Sanjay Fotedar, Professor of Pulmonary Medicine, Rohtak; Dr. Shikhaa Mahajan, Professor, SHKM Government Medical College, Mewat; Dr. Heena Kudyar, Plastic Surgeon, Indian Spinal Injuries Centre, Vasant Kunj; Dr. Sumbul Erum, Private Practice, Noida; and Dr. Himani Kudyar, Pathologist associated with multiple diagnostic centres in Gurugram. 85th Foundation Day Celebrations of #CSIR: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) is celebrating over eight decades of scientific excellence and innovation. Established in 1942, CSIR today operates through a network of 37 national laboratories and has contributed significantly to the growth of various industrial sectors. The notable innovations include the National Aroma Mission, Swaraj Tractor, indelible election ink, Saheli contraceptive pill, and indigenous Paracetamol technology, among others. It has also pioneered sustainable solutions such as bio-jet fuel and steel slag roads. In recent times, some of the notable achievements include the HANSA-NG aircraft, sickle cell anaemia test kit, hydrogen fuel-cell catamaran, and RO Bus. To mark its remarkable journey and this special milestone, launched the Special CSIR@85 Postal Stamp, the Tech Connect Special Issue, CSIR Technology Compendium, Industry Connect Special Short Film, and the special mascot named CIRA.

In an unusual gesture full of friendship and affection, Hon’ble MP and former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor ji, currently in #Jammu as the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs, visited Auqaf Complex Gandhi Nagar to have a glimpse of the Chamber which was my Consultation Clinic as Diabeteologist & Physician for over two decades, before I moved over to Delhi. Incidentally, it is in this very clinic that I used to attend to Shashi Tharoor JI’s mother-in-law and Sunanda JI’s mother, Mrs Das who had Type 2 Diabetes and was under my regular follow up. These days the chamber is occupied by a pharmacy outlet. Thanks Shashi ji, it was very inspiring… I wish I had accompanied you, if only I knew you were going to be in Jammu. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Shashi Tharoor

Congratulations to #ISRO on the successful sea-level hot test of the CE20 Cryogenic Engine at 22-tonne thrust at the ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.
